Power statement:
It’s a foundation. It’s a powder. That’s the beauty of mineral powder foundation.
It’s beauty made simple. A foundation that goes on with the sweep of a brush. A weightless powder that blends effortlessly for a flawless look. A skin perfecter that makes lines, wrinkles and other imperfections seem to disappear. And it’s transfer-resistant, so it won’t fade away midday. The secret to a perfect application is having the perfect brush, and that’s why we created one. The Mineral Foundation Brush is custom-designed to work with the foundation. They’re made for each other to deliver results like you’ve never seen or felt before. No other brush you own will even come close to the Mineral Foundation Brush. The bristles are soft, natural hair that is short and flat across the top, so you get the right amount of foundation and right level of buildable coverage.
WHAT’S THE BUZZ IN THE MARKETPLACE?
Mineral-based products are the hot trend in cosmetics. Growing numbers of specialty brands as well as mass retail brands offer mineral makeup options to meet the ever-increasing demand by women worldwide. As more consumers strive to lead healthier lifestyles, being “natural” and using more botanicals or mineral-sourced ingredients in food and personal care products continue to gain huge popularity.
WHO ARE YOUR CUSTOMERS?
Mary Kay® Mineral Powder Foundation provides an additional foundation option to the current Mary Kay® foundation line. This product can be used by women of all ages and all skin types. And it’s suitable for sensitive skin.
WHAT MAKES MINERAL POWDER FOUNDATION DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FACIAL POWDERS?
Mary Kay® Mineral Powder Foundation is a foundation in powder form. This weightless formula blends for a flawless look and evens out skin tone while providing buildable coverage with the comfort of a silky powder. It’s transfer-resistant and won’t fade away midday. Other regular facial pressed or loose powders generally have sheer/luminous coverage or shine-control properties. These powders provide neither the coverage nor the benefits of a foundation.
HOW DOES MARY KAY® MINERAL POWDER FOUNDATION SPECIFICALLY DIFFER FROM MK SIGNATURE® LOOSE POWDER?
In addition to the general differences mentioned above, Mary Kay® Mineral Powder Foundation contains a higher percentage of minerals than our loose powder. Also, the key function of our loose powder is to help control excess oil while setting makeup for a flawless look.
WHAT DO DERMATOLOGISTS SAY ABOUT MINERAL POWDER MAKEUP?
Many leading dermatologists recognize and approve of the benefits of mineral makeup, such as the ease of application, its excellent coverage and adhesion to the skin. However, dermatologists generally believe that mineral makeup is not a true treatment product for your skin, nor can a typical use provide the necessary amount of sun protection.
WHAT IS THE ORDER OF APPLICATION WHEN USING MARY KAY® MINERAL POWDER FOUNDATION?
Your customers should follow their normal daily skin care and makeup application regimens, applying mineral powder foundation in the same order as their current foundation. If using the MK Signature® Facial Highlighting Pen, it’s recommended to apply it before Mary Kay® Mineral Powder Foundation. MK Signature® Loose Powder is optional depending on the needs of your customers’ skin and can be used to freshen up their look during the day.
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO APPLY MARY KAY® MINERAL POWDER FOUNDATION?
|
1.
|
|
Your customers should cleanse and moisturize their faces, allowing
moisturizer and any other treatment products to become dry to the touch. |
| |
|
|
|
2.
|
|
With the jar lid on, gently shake the mineral powder foundation jar to
dispense the foundation into the sifter. |
| |
|
|
|
3.
|
|
Remove the lid and dip the Mineral Foundation Brush into the powder, tapping against the rim of the jar to remove any excess. It is not necessary to use all of the powder that is in the sifter — a little goes a long way. |
| |
|
|
|
4.
|
|
Swirl the Mineral Foundation Brush inside the lid so that the powder is
worked into the bristles. |
| |
|
|
|
5.
|
|
To apply, start in the center of the face and work out to either side
toward the hairline and along the jawline, blending well. For a light,
natural coverage, a single, thin layer should be enough. For increased
coverage, repeat the application process, applying the Mineral Powder
Foundation in thin layers until the desired coverage level is achieved. |
WHY DO MY CUSTOMERS HAVE TO USE A SPECIAL BRUSH? The Mineral Foundation Brush is custom-designed to work with the foundation and provide the flawless results your customers expect. The bristles are soft, natural hair that pick up a precise amount of powder, releasing it evenly as your customers sweep. The bristles are also shorter and flat across the top, so your customers can easily customize the level of coverage. Plus, the handle is the perfect size for maximum control. No other brush will come close to delivering the optimum

O.K. here is the scoop. Great package, looks of course like loose powder, silver top. Cute black bag with the brush.
I had not (shame on me)looked at the DVD yet. Figured I could do this from box instructions and infomercials from past,
(does look easy i box of powder and 1 brush, how much trouble can I get into with that?) and then realized there were no instructions in the box. Figure better do this right.
Put in the DVD. no sound (still don’t know why)as computer had sound. Anyhoo. I’m thinking, can’t believe there are no instructions, yada yada, then remember the bag.DUH! Hurrah! Instructions were indeed there.
Sounded easy enough. Shake jar for powder to come to the sifter. Dip brush into jar, tap off excess, start in middle of face, remember for more coverage, layer each time, yada yada.
I asked how I looked to whatever, His reply was:”you look like you got suntan lotion on,” (the tanning kind,) only this side is a lot darker than other side. so back I go and reapply to light side of face.
I know this is TMI, but this is me the low techno babe, the sound ain’t working, I am trying to read lips and interpret movements, So hunted and pecked for instructions, one side of my face is funny looking..lol!I look like sunkissed powder face! whoo hoo!
Now I know I shall become an expert at this before Tuesday night Live! I shall read the lips on the DVD if it does not heal quickly.
I shall read the instructions very very well and of course other info I may have and find anew. I pledge to take more time in application. I pledge to lather up next time with gooey moisturizer for a bit of a glow for old skin. Drats! Did I say that?
Imho the oilier younger gals are gonna love it! Customers too! It sounds simple,As for me I just need glasses, good lighting and the right color! Whoo Hoo!
December 1, 2007 at 9:21 pm
ROTFL!! Oh boy, I feel some fine art instruction coming on just like I thought-LOL! OMG Angie! You are too funny! I can hardly wait my turn! I really am glad to have you paving the way here for all us girlies. Thanks so much! Ooh, I better get my extra hydration moisturizer (and EENC) out of my bin and on this slightly mature face of mine. ‘Ya think? No dusty ole lady. I’m also thinking I might need to order a Robert Jones lightbulb or two, hehehe…
Color me happy (mineral) face soon..
December 2, 2007 at 12:50 am
Oh you guys are just too funny! I cannot order mine from my director until Dec. 16, and then I am going to try it on! “This face is old and wrinkled, and I am not sure any powder will help this here ol’ lady, but I will try it when I can get it”.
Robert Jones has a light bulb? What kind and why? Really, no joke.
with love to you, Jeni

Ok, mine came in and I COULD NOT WAIT TO TRY THEM… so I tried it on top of my foundation… which may be how I use it… because I have some pretty serious discoloration and have a hard time believing that a powder can make me perfect… well… er… MORE perfect!
Dusted on great, gives me a perfect airbrush matte finish and I love it WAY MO BETTA than our loose powder… my loose powder is going in the garbage…. yes it is an MK one.
I used a concealer brush to dust on under my eyes and WOW! Even BETTER than the highlighting pen! Seriously.
Ok, I am in love. I will keep you posted on how it goes without a foundation first… might be day after tomorrow though.
Got things to do first thing in the am tomorrow… don’t want to experiment when I gotta get out early.

I was able to try the mineral powder on the back of my hand last night at my meeting. I couldn’t really form an opinion based on that. Needless to say, I am eagerly awaiting December 10, so I can order my own!
December 4, 2007 at 9:48 am
My director has hers and was showing them to me yesterday. I tried it on the back of my hand and frankly, I thought it made the area she brushed it into look crepey (not creepy, but crepe-like). Tonight we’re all going to try them on our face. It should be interesting.
That said, she’s been using them for 4-5 days now and said that what she learned is that despite what MKC says about Ivory 1 = Ivory 100, 104, and 105, etc., my director normally wears Beige 304, but found Beige 1 and Ivory 2 to be too dark. So she’s wearing Ivory 1. When I saw her yesterday, she had on Ivory 2 (b/c she wanted me to see it) and it was way too dark.
December 4, 2007 at 11:14 am
lol–anon, I thought it looked crepey on my hand, too, but my hands are very dry this time of year. I can’t wait to get it on my face!
December 4, 2007 at 2:57 pm
I agree that my hands are dry this time of year, but it told me 2 things:
1. DO NOT demonstrate on someone’s hand – it’s got to be done on the face (b/c based on doing it on my hand, I would never buy it) and
2. Clients with very dry skin may not like this product.
December 4, 2007 at 4:55 pm
Hey NO MK goes in the garbage girl! Send the loose powder back as a product return!!
Do Satin Hands on people (without hand cream) before applying any foundation. Otherwise it makes even the 20-something’s look old and crepe-y. wink That’s how we learned to do bathroom hand-cials at the office: one side TimeWise’d and other hand not, then apply foundation to both backs of hands and VOILA! they bought the TW! smile kmh
