The Top Radical Resolutions To Create Your Best Year Yet!

With the dramatic changes in our economy and in our society, it’s no wonder that many of us are asking ourselves, “Now what do I do?” while looking for more order and certainty in an uncertain world.

The New Year brings the opportunity for change. For many us, it’s the time to think about resolutions. Often these resolutions are the same ones that we make every year or the ones we only stick to for a few weeks.

If it’s ever been a struggle to create what you want most in the New Year or to keep to your resolutions, consider that your goals and the strategy to achieve them may not serve you best.

Resolution is defined as, “The process of reducing to simpler form.” Which brings us to the paradox of resolutions: instead of simplifying our lives, we wind up dumping more tasks, goals or projects on our “to do list” thinking that by achieving more, our lives will be more fulfilling and successful in the New Year.

To make and keep your resolutions with the least amount of effort, start with upgrading your attitude and your strategy to achieve greater results. To begin, here are some resolutions that will enable you to live your potential and manage your life. (more…)

Let’s hit a hot button!  So… the rumor is that they may be offering pants with the new Director’s suit… now, the fact that we have NOT seen any images of the new suit leaked from the NSD trip seems to me to be pretty good confirmation of this possibility, regardless… the cat will be out of the bag at leadership.

So where does the myst fall with this seemingly hot hot hot topic? (more…)

I thought this article from Inc. was interesting, it asks some great questions to ask “underachievers” – now since we work for ourselves, only we know if we are performing to the best of our abilities, great questions to review – wherever you are in your business.

I always get a kick out of the blog stats section…. mainly the search strings that bring people here… this is a serious one though, so I thought I would answer the question and of course, some of you probably have experience here… so please weigh in: (more…)

Melancholy Myst… humor me…. yes yes… a bit of a complaint or whine today…. anybody got any cheese?

So… when I first debuted as a Director I LOVED meetings, I could not wait to hold meetings!  I could not wait to recognize others and provide training!  A few years later… I notice that meeting size is down and meetings just don’t seem to be so “in demand” anymore.   Meeting size has always fluctuated… based on holidays, school starting, school getting out, summer vacation.. etc etc

Now, of course, the first thing most of us do is look at ourselves, what changed in me?  What changed in my format?  What could I do better?  And although anyone could find things they could do better… (more…)

Colleen Asks:  Myst what does it feel like to have a GP unit? How did you motivate those women to sell? Is it the fact you only looked for people who wanted to do something part time or business minded or you got lucky? One thing that has been on my mind is since you were a six-figure baby in corporate america is it easier for you to recruit since women making that kind of money relate to those types of women? Dont get me wrong but lets face facts I think its easier for someone like you to recruit the corporate woman than it is a waitress and if Im wrong I stand corrected. I picture you driving up in the GP and giving an I story of I made 100k a year and was away from my family and MK came into my life and now I can be home (you know the drill)…..

This should be a great topic!!  Here is my view…

Your Director is supposed to:

  • Be the best Independent Beauty Consultant in her unit
  • Provide an avenue of training and skill building for her consultants (some do weekly in person meetings, some do telephone training, some do one-on-one coaching, this comes in a variety of forms)
  • Keep you up to date on unit & company changes
  • Keep you up to date on deadlines and important dates
  • Keep you up to date on your status (active, inactive, about to lose team, about to lose discount, etc.)
  • Be your biggest cheer leader & fan
  • Be your coach

Ok… so you had a change of heart, you went through a divorce, you hated your Director… whatever the reason, you sent your product back to the Company… but… then… one day you had this thought… “maybe I should not have closed that door forever… or did I?”

Let’s talk about it.  Hey, first off, let me say that we are NOT judging people who sent their product back.  Many people do and they love that day, it is a great day for them.  That is GREAT!  For others they regret it, we are not gonna judge you either.  Life happens and we make choices at the time as best we can with the information we have.  All that being said…. here is what I know: (more…)
